Stronger Than Achilles Walkthrough
The Stronger Than Achilles quest unlocks after you investigate the monastery with Anca and finish the “Where Old Devils Lie” quest. It requires six time segments, so plan your schedule before starting. You will need to enter the temple where the Font of Life resides and complete three trials.
Survive the Trial
Begin by descending the stairs and following the hallway; a lone zombie ambushes you, which you should kill quickly. Enter the next room where two undead await and eliminate them. Continue until you reach a chamber with two zombies and two hounds, kill them all, then proceed to the large circular room where Coen and Anca are attacked by several Vidmos. Use Anca to draw their aggression while you focus on the enemies.
Defeat the Fallen Hero
The next obstacle is the Fallen Hero mini‑boss. He uses horizontal or vertical sword strikes and an unblockable close‑range attack that you must dodge. Parry his main swings and let Anca assist; the fight is straightforward and his health pool is low.
Cross the Gap
After the cutscene where Anca discusses using the Font, regain control of Coen, jump across the gap to the central platform, follow the blood trail, shimmy along the wall, and leap to the stairs. Circle the back of the room, slip through a wall crack, clear the rubble, and reunite with Anca. Return down the hall, open the hidden chamber filled with paintings and sculptures, then pass through the left gap into the boss‑shaped room with a stone marker.
Defeat the Guardians of the Font
Activate the pillar by performing an incantation on the tablet, which summons waves of undead. Manage the fight by keeping only two or three enemies active at a time; Anca can pull aggro while you use Broad Swing attacks to hit multiple foes. Once the waves are cleared, a stronger warrior appears with higher damage; parry his strikes and dodge his unblockable move to finish the battle.
Who Should Use the Font
You are given three options. If Coen drinks the Font, you unlock the Font of Life perk in the Witchcraft tree, granting passive health regeneration during daytime. If Anca drinks it, you receive unique epilogue cutscenes but no gameplay benefit. If you destroy the Font, you obtain the legendary Ancient Greaves, which provide high armor, Witchcraft damage boost, block recharge, and magical damage reduction. I recommend either having Coen use the Font or destroying it for the best long‑term reward.
Regardless of your choice, you will eventually return to the inn where you can finalize a romance with Anca if you wish.
