How To Find The Long-Legged Creature

The first step in How to Fish is to locate and catch the long‑legged creature that has been stealing a man’s beer. Though it sounds simple, the Spider Crab turns out to be far tougher than expected, and many players meet an untimely end.

To get the creature you need an empty beer can. First, catch and sell enough crabs or shrimp to the NPC to afford a can of beer, which costs $12 at the shop. After buying the can, feed it to the NPC to receive an empty can, which you will use as a lure. However, don’t try to catch the crab immediately; you should prepare first.

  • Make sure you have full health by catching and eating enough food before the encounter.
  • Keep an extra item in your inventory that can restore health during the battle.
  • Continue using the worm lure to catch and sell more fish until you can afford the knife, priced at $45.

You can also sharpen the knife for $14 to boost its damage.

How To Defeat The Spider Crab

When you feel ready, cast your line with the empty can lure and you will automatically hook the Spider Crab boss.

The crab deals heavy damage, so staying out of its reach is crucial.

Wait until the stars appear above its head, then rush in for a quick hit and retreat again.

Repeat this pattern until the creature is defeated.

If your health gets low, eat a fish from your inventory to recover.

Once the crab falls, you earn the “Who Stole My Beer” achievement, can sell the crab’s parts to the NPC, purchase the NPC, and obtain the keys to his boat to progress.

Even if you die, you keep the rod and knife (you may need to pick them up from the ground), but you’ll have to save up again for another beer can.
