How To Complete Every Step For Phantom Blade Zero’s Perfect Ending

If you’ve played any action game before, you know that true endings often require specific tasks. Phantom Blade Zero follows this tradition, and achieving its perfect ending means ticking off a handful of objectives.

Spoilers for steps to complete Phantom Blade Zero’s true ending ahead. We won’t spoil the ending, don’t worry.

Step 1: Complete All Lóng Pillars

The Lóng Pillars reveal Soul’s backstory and his relationship with a mysterious masked figure. There are five pillars:

  • Pillar 1: Weeping Creek Valley
  • Pillar 2: Crimson Forest
  • Pillar 3: Meigu Lake
  • Pillar 4: Meigu Lake Hidden Realm (access after collecting all four Acolyte Masks and sailing west of Meigu Lake to a snowy dock, then entering the hidden area)
  • Pillar 5: Crimson Manor (see how to gain access below)

Step 2: Unlock The Secrets At The Heart Of The Lake Mission

Complete the side quest “Heart of the Lake” by finding all six Firefly Memory Flowers in the Village of Lu. This quest is essential for the perfect ending.

Step 3: Repair The Illusory Pipa Phantom Edge

The Illusory Pipa isn’t required for the ending, but repairing it gives you the Phantom Edge ability, which clears mist on certain paths. Collect its three parts:

  • Village of Lu – hidden boss
  • Mandate’s Encampment – chapter boss
  • Ruined Theater (Meigu Lake) – hidden boss

Take the repaired Pipa to Myst at the tavern in Pangzhen, then use the Phantom Edge to clear fog north of Meigu Lake, opening the Mountain of Imprisonment.

Step 4: Collect All Acolyte Masks

Four Acolyte Masks are hidden on scarecrows. Defeat the corresponding Acolytes to obtain them:

  • Mask 1: Village of Lu – Yanru’s Blazing (Fire) Mask
  • Mask 2: Pangzhen – Leiting’s Thunder (Lightning) Mask
  • Mask 3: Meigu Lake – Guhe’s Venom (Poison) Mask
  • Mask 4: Crimson Manor (below the Sha‑Chi Tower in Weeping Creek Valley) – Hansui’s Frost (Ice) Mask

Step 5: Access The Crimson Manor and Collect The Crystal Puppet Eyes

To enter Crimson Manor you need the Puppet’s Tongue, which you obtain by beating the chapter boss at the Mandate Encampment. The manor also contains the second Crystal Puppet Eye after defeating the Mountain of Imprisonment boss.

  • Crystal Puppet Eye 1 – defeat the chapter boss at the Village of Lu
  • Puppet Tongue – defeat the chapter boss at the Mandate Encampment
  • Crystal Puppet Eye 2 – enter Crimson Manor in Weeping Creek Valley after beating the Mountain of Imprisonment boss

Return to the hidden realm in Meigu Lake, defeat its chapter boss, and insert the two eyes into the appearing statue. This completes all requirements for the perfect ending.

While the list looks like a series of chores, most tasks are discovered through exploration. Taking the extra time pays off – the true ending is well worth the effort.
