What Happens If You Eat The Mandrake?
After finishing Lacra’s quest in Anachora and helping her locate Isbrand, she joins you to face Brencis, and you can also trigger a side romance called The Night of Horrors by asking her about her plans.
The romance is optional; you may skip the relationship and still complete the quest, but you’ll miss some benefits and a unique skill.
Later, while exploring the ancient Vrakhiri’s corpse you find a Mandrake, a rare flower that contains the essence of the powerful Vrakhiri. Lacra reacts with alarm and urges you to eat it, warning that the outcome is uncertain.
She encourages you to drink first, and once you do, both of you enter a drunken‑like state. She then suggests you drink from her, leading into an intense romance scene that includes slapping, scratching and biting. If such content isn’t your preference, you can skip it.
When the scene ends, Coen awakens alone in the cave, but you gain two new Vampire abilities: Mandrake Ward from the skill tree and Mesmerize, unlocking additional power.
Mandrake Ward can be used once per night and restores three health segments. It is the only way to obtain this skill; without eating the Mandrake you forfeit it.
Choosing not to eat the Mandrake locks you out of the romance and the associated abilities, so there is little reason to refuse unless you simply want to avoid the scene.
