Assassin’s Creed Codename Mars Details Revealed, As Well As A New Mobile Game
A reliable Ubisoft insider reported that two new Assassin’s Creed games are in development, the biggest of which is codenamed “Mars” and is set in Ancient Rome.
The announcement came from insider xj0nathan, who posted a video on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit. He said the “Mars” project is the first and largest of the two upcoming titles.
While no further details have been disclosed, the setting coincides with the recently confirmed Netflix series that also takes place in the same era, suggesting a possible connection and an experience similar to Odyssey.
The second game is a mobile title called Assassin’s Creed Pocket, set in Jerusalem. It will feature gameplay mechanics comparable to Valhalla’s Mastery Challenges and aims to match the visual quality of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, making it more intriguing than a typical small‑scale Assassin’s Creed spin‑off.
These revelations add to a landscape that already includes the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Hexe, the Netflix show, and several mysterious side projects. The studio is reportedly hard at work on the next mainline entry after Hexe and the Black Flag remake, though its identity remains unknown. The new leaks indicate the series will continue to explore fresh historical periods and expand onto new platforms.
Additional information from a game info box shows that a previous mainline title was released on October 15, 2018, carries an M for Mature ESRB rating for blood and gore, intense violence, sexual themes, and strong language, and was developed by Ubisoft Quebec.
