Shrek 2 Remastered Brings Classic Co‑Op to Modern Consoles
After leaking last month during the big Steam/Exophase achievement dump, we now have our first look at Shrek 2: Remastered, which is bringing the four‑player co‑op game to modern consoles. The reveal came from an accidental early posting of Xbox’s store page.
The listing includes multiple screenshots, a pre‑order trailer, and a detailed description of the new features. The game receives a facelift with better textures, an enhanced UI, 4K resolution support, a Photo Mode, and a Cheat Mode that lets you modify gameplay. It will support both local and online co‑op, letting families play together or friends connect remotely.
Having played the original when it launched, I was surprised how much of the experience returned when watching the trailer. While it’s unclear why Aspyr chose now to revive the title, its popularity likely made it a natural tie‑in for the upcoming Shrek 5.
The store page and trailer don’t list a release date yet, but if the announcement is as imminent as it appears, we won’t have to wait long to learn when the Shrek 2 remaster will launch.
