Kojima’s cameo in Edgerunners II
The second season of Cyberpunk Edgerunners is releasing tomorrow. Although the ten‑episode story didn’t fully win me over, I’m eager to revisit Night City, where familiar sights and faces await. This time, you might spot a face not only from Cyberpunk 2077 but also from a legendary figure in the gaming world.
Hideo Kojima, famed director of the Metal Gear series and creator of Death Stranding, makes a cameo in Cyberpunk 2077 as Hideyoshi Oshima, a Braindance producer who appears during the Heist mission. He’s depicted as a hotel guest you can see wandering the streets, and his likeness to Kojima makes him easy to recognize.
Six years on, Hideyoshi shows up again in Edgerunners II. When the review embargo lifted this morning, CD Projekt Red confirmed that Kojima indeed returned for this cameo.
