Battlefield 6’s Mid‑Season Update and the Top Gun Event
Battlefield 6’s mid‑season update has arrived, letting you fuel up your jet, load the new Interdictor sniper rifle, and aim to sink the enemy carrier. The update adds the Top Gun event, which brings two new game modes, a weapon to unlock, and cosmetic rewards that you can earn simply by playing.
How to Get Ace Medals
Ace Medals are the limited‑time currency tied to the Top Gun event, and they are the only way to obtain the new weapon, jet, and class skins. Open the Challenges tab in the main menu, select the “Top Gun” subcategory, and you’ll see a list of challenges, the actions required, and the number of Ace Medals awarded for each completion.
Finishing Top Gun challenges is the sole method to earn Ace Medals, so focus on them if you want any of the new cosmetics or the Interdictor sniper rifle. Many challenges grant bonus progress based on the game mode you choose, which can speed up your unlock rate. Some challenges offer two completion paths depending on the mode or class you use; completing either one finishes the challenge and awards the Ace Medal reward. You are never forced to play only Battle Royale or only multiplayer—pick the mode that suits you best.
The Top Gun challenge list includes tasks such as reaching 120 kills or assists (150 Ace Medals), capturing or destroying objectives (120 Ace Medals), earning 75,000 points (150 Ace Medals), performing support revives, recon spot assists, or assault kills (50 Ace Medals), repairing 500 vehicle damage (30 Ace Medals), capturing objectives while in a vehicle (50 Ace Medals), destroying aircraft or achieving squad wipes (80 Ace Medals), dealing 10,000 damage to enemies (120 Ace Medals), dealing 500 damage with gadgets (30 Ace Medals), and completing two matches (50 Ace Medals). Rewards range from 30 to 150 Ace Medals depending on the objective.
Unlike daily or weekly challenges, Top Gun challenges never refresh and new ones won’t be added, but progress carries over from match to match, so you can work on them gradually. For faster completion, concentrate on the new Carrier Strike mode, which features many aircraft and vehicles; using the AA Tank there is especially effective because it shreds the abundant helicopters. Additionally, there is a special challenge that awards the Showtime player card icon when you perform a Rendezook—launching from a jet, destroying an enemy jet with a rocket, and re‑entering the jet before landing. Though difficult, it offers a cool icon for your efforts.
