World of Warcraft’s Wrath of the Lich King Remix
World of Warcraft is about to resurrect and remix its most beloved expansion: Wrath of the Lich King.
During the World of Warcraft: What’s Next panel at Blizzcon, Blizzard announced that Wrath of the Lich King will receive the remix treatment, following the earlier Mists of Pandaria and Legion remixes.
These limited‑time events let players start a character at level 1, sprint through the expansion, reach max level, and wield powerful, often humorous, sometimes game‑breaking abilities. Completing objectives grants currency used for unique cosmetics, mounts, and pets, and the characters can be transferred back into the regular game. Blizzard also fast‑forwards through each expansion’s major patches and events, letting participants relive the content in a condensed timeframe.
Both previous remixes have been popular ways to play during the lull between major releases, and this one is expected to be no different. Early community concerns that the next remix might focus on a less‑favored expansion like Shadowlands or Warlords of Draenor have been eased by the fact that Wrath of the Lich King is widely regarded as Blizzard’s best‑known and most beloved expansion.
The remix also serves as a warm‑up for the upcoming expansion, The Last Titan, which will revisit the Northrend setting.
While Blizzard has not revealed specific details about the Wrath remix, it will arrive in the summer of 2027, offering a chilly adventure just before the heat of the season.
