Rockstar Games unveiled nearly 30 minutes of Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay, slated for a November 19 launch on Xbox and PS5. The footage reveals numerous details that hint at a deeper, more realistic experience reminiscent of Red Dead Redemption 2.

RDR 2‘s context menu for interactions is back

The game uses a context‑sensitive menu that pops up in the lower‑right corner, letting players interact with characters and animals just like in Red Dead Redemption 2, and it appears unchanged in GTA 6.

Jason and Lucia can visit strip clubs together

Players can go to strip clubs as a couple, confirming that GTA 6 will keep the series’ freedom to explore adult venues without restriction.

Weapons now have brands and model numbers

Weapons display brand names and model numbers, such as the “Moreland 850 Shotgun,” adding realism and echoing Red Dead’s detailed armory system.

Enemies can be killed or just incapacitated

Combat shows a flashing red reticle for kills and a yellow one for non‑lethal takedowns, indicating players can choose to incapacitate enemies rather than kill them.

Jason and Lucia get sweatier as they fight and dance

Both protagonists appear sweaty during workouts, dancing, and shooting, adding a layer of physical realism to their actions.

Stealing cars is now more involved

Car theft requires jamming locks and completing a mini‑game, and some vehicles have trackers or need key‑fob cloning, making the process more involved than before.

You can turn lights on and off and check the fridge for snacks

Exploring Lucia’s apartment lets players toggle lights and inspect the fridge for drinks and food, highlighting the game’s attention to everyday interactions.

The minimap now shows 3D buildings

The mini‑map displays 3D building outlines, helping navigation in vertical spaces and adding a visual upgrade over past GTA titles.

Gruppe-Sechs, Sprunk, and other classic GTA brands spotted

Classic brands reappear, including Sprunk and eCola cans in a fridge, a Gruppe‑Sechs armored car, and a Fleeca logo, linking the game to earlier GTA titles.

You can hold hands

Jason and Lucia can hold hands when their relationship status allows, offering a subtle romantic detail during shared moments.

Realistic birds and manatees

Wildlife appears in the world, with angry birds fighting on sidewalks and a pod of manatees swimming slowly through Leonida’s swamps.

Backflips!

Jason performs a backflip off a pier into water, suggesting players may be able to execute flips freely for fun and cinematic moments.

Changing clothes out in the world

Players can switch outfits on the fly using a clothing wheel, similar to Red Dead, allowing quick look changes before robberies or missions.

Lovefist is still around

A Lovefist T‑shirt appears on a goth woman speaking to Lucia, confirming the band’s return from earlier GTA games.

Text messaging

Lucia and Jason exchange texts, with Lucia using a custom emoji avatar, showing modern communication options in the game.
