The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel Revealed
Eight years after its announcement, Bethesda finally confirmed the name of the next RPG in its Elder Scrolls series: Sentinel.
The title was shown in a 40th‑anniversary video narrated by Todd Howard, who reflected on the studio’s history from its early sports title Gridiron to the launch of The Elder Scrolls in the early 1990s.
Howard said the moment felt right to reveal the name, noting that fans have long asked for Elder Scrolls 6.
The reveal introduced the title “Sentinel,” a name that hints at the game’s setting in Hammerfell, the homeland of the Redguards.
A quote from the in‑game character Yazar, Moth Priest of High Queen Iradne, places Sentinel at least five years after the events of Skyrim, suggesting a timeline set in the year 4E 206.
The teaser’s sandy backdrop and the mention of the Alik’r Desert point to a desert environment, a shift from the mountainous vistas seen in earlier reveals.
While no further details have been disclosed, the visual hint of a jeweled object partially buried in sand has sparked speculation about the game’s focus.
