Expansion Pass Overview
Nintendo surprise‑dropped the Expansion Pass for Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave, and the first wave is already out.
Wave 1 may feel thin, but it adds four legendary hero relics that will delight Three Houses fans: the Areadbhar spear, the Aymr axe, the Failnaught bow, and the Sword of the Creator. Perhaps Seteth, the only character who bridges Fortune’s Weave and Three Houses, will comment on past users of these weapons.
Wave 2, slated for a holiday 2026 release, will introduce new outfits for any Flame Lord or companion, including a striking look for Father Fabio. More intriguing, several of the game’s deities will fight alongside the player.

Fire Emblem is one of those rare games where gods actually walk among mortals. The story’s premise—gods threatening their own world—makes it odd that ordinary humans are left to stop the evil, especially since there’s no non‑interference pact to explain their absence. A mechanic lets players receive a share of divine power by showing devotion, and now those gods will fight beside you.
The three new companions are Smyrnos, Jurah, and Aurora, who promise big implications for one of the Flame Lords—details I’ll keep under wraps.
Future Waves and Story Content
Wave 3, expected sometime in 2027, will be the biggest update yet, adding story chapters for the four major characters who aren’t Flame Lords: Anatolia, Talimunn, Bertand, and Orchel. The developers originally planned eight main characters, a fact hinted at by eight statues Eshmel passes early in the game—four are labeled Flame Lords of Dagda, the other four seem placeholder.
While extra story is welcome, the game is already massive, and a $35 price tag pushes the total cost of Fortune’s Weave and all its add‑ons past $100. As a YouTube commenter put it, “Chill bro, I’m not even done with my first route,” which says it all.
