When Does The Pokopia Halloween Event End?

The Halloween celebration in Pokopia runs from mid‑October through the end of the month. Players can collect and exchange Pumpkin Candy from October 17, 2026, 5:00 am local time until November 1, 2026, 4:59 am local time. After that deadline the candy can no longer be traded for Halloween items, though any items already obtained can be duplicated with Pokemetal.

How To Scare Pokemon And Earn Treats

When the event begins, a notification will appear indicating that a Pokémon is the talk of the town. If you don’t see it, make sure your game and Switch 2 clock are up to date. The event is located at the Withered Wastelands, where the Pokémon Center is decorated for Halloween and Pumpkaboo floats nearby. Pumpkaboo asks you to surprise a Pokémon by using your camouflage ability to disguise yourself as something the Pokémon likes. When the Pokémon notices you, you revert to Ditto and startle it, earning Pumpkin Candy. Any Pokémon can be scared, but not every item works on every species; for example, Hitmontop likes a Punching Bag while Bulbasaur does not. Checking a Pokémon’s Pokédex entry tells you which items are effective. Each successful scare grants 1‑3 Pumpkin Candies, and you may repeat the process as often as you like before heading back to the Pokémon Center to exchange candies for decorations.

How To Build The Habitats For Pumpkaboo And Gourgeist

You can construct the habitats as soon as you have the required items, but only Gourgeist will appear in its habitat immediately. Pumpkaboo stays in the Pokémon Center until the event ends, when it can be moved into its newly built home. For Gourgeist, stack the Pumpkin Lantern Tower on top of the regular Pumpkin Lantern; otherwise the habitat will not register. The necessary items are listed below:

Pumpkaboo Habitat (Give Me Something Good To Eat): 1 Table (any), 1 Candy Bucket, 1 Ghost Smoke Projector. Gourgeist Habitat (Creepy Pumpkins): 1 Trevenant Streetlight, 1 Pumpkin Lantern, 1 Pumpkin Lantern Tower. These decorations, purchased with Pumpkin Candy, let you welcome the two new Halloween Pokémon to your town.
