Nightmare Doors in Marvel’s Wolverine

Marvel’s Wolverine is primarily a linear action game, but it hides a series of optional challenge rooms called Nightmare Doors. These doors are tied to Logan’s lost memories and appear throughout the campaign, marked by purple, tree‑like roots that guide you to them. Each door presents a specific trial—ranging from timed traversal races to gauntlet waves or enemy‑kill challenges. Completing a door grants Ability Points used to unlock and equip augmentations, and it also unlocks a new memory in the Nightmare Cabin, represented by wood carvings whose colour changes with the medal grade you earn.

How to Find the Doors

The first door is story‑locked and cannot be missed; you must finish it within 55 seconds to earn the Adamantium medal. The earliest optional door appears in the “One Who Got Away” chapter, where you chase Jean Grey through a forest. Purple roots point to a door on the left, and Logan even comments on it. This traversal challenge requires you to reach the end in 57 seconds for the Adamantium medal.

Additional Locations

“Raise Some Hell” places the next door in a lava‑filled courtyard. After learning the “hot claws” move, follow the right side to a cluster of crates where the door is hidden. The task is to kill three snipers within 45 seconds, which is easy if you ignore other enemies.

In “Something Much Stronger,” free a wolf from branches early in the chapter, then head right to discover the door. The challenge is another linear traversal; finish in 43 seconds for the Adamantium medal.

“Mutant Detected” features a massive jet turbine fight. After the battle, stay on the left side and interact with the door. You must eliminate nine enemies in 50 seconds while health inhibitors prevent regeneration, making timing crucial.

Gauntlet and Special Challenges

The “One Last Mission” door appears after leaving the Princess Bar; it’s a gauntlet where you survive waves of enemies. To earn the Adamantium medal you need about 22 waves and 40,000 points, but you can collect buffs every five rounds, such as a parry‑kill boost, and replay the challenge later for easier completion.

“Get Angry” offers a simple find‑the‑door moment. After unlocking a sword critical strike, the door is right of your spawn point. Kill three enemies with critical strikes in 55 seconds for the Adamantium medal, using an impaled‑sword trigger for instant criticals.

“Bad Blood” places the door early after a Hand chunin trap; climb the building to reach it. This traversal challenge again requires 57 seconds for the Adamantium medal, with a straightforward path.

Final Doors and Rewards

“Death Comes To Death” (47‑second traversal), “Sinister Tidings” (40,000‑point gauntlet), “Way Down Low” (kill two Reaver Crushers in 1:15), “Roll The Dice” (57‑second exit race), “I’m Still Here” (50‑second exit), and “This Was The Dream” (40,000‑point gauntlet).

The final door unlocks after you have found every other door; it appears in the Nightmare Cabin and requires 45,000 points for the Adamantium medal, usually achieved in about 25 waves.

Completing it grants a special epilogue scene about Logan and Jean, and awards the Repressed Memories Gold trophy.

Collecting all medals and trophies not only completes Logan’s story but also unlocks alternate costumes such as Future Fugitive and Hellverine.
