After you’ve finished the third day and completed Servant of the Lake, you’ll find there’s still a mystery to solve. The maid, Kate, asks you to help find her brother, who went missing a year prior.
To solve this, you need to revisit different chapters from the notebook, following the clue left to you, to find out what happened to her brother and unlock the ‘You’ve Found Him!’ achievement. If you’re struggling to work out the clues, we’ve got a complete walkthrough for you right here.
Clue 1: Day 1 – Waking Up Aldous
In the letter that Kate gives you after completing the game, it says, “The crow awakens at five past four.” This is your first clue.
- Using the Notebook, go to Day 1: Waking up Aldous.
- Take the clock hand from the soldier figurine.
- Use the clock hand on the clock.
- Set the time to 04:05.
- Read the note that pops out.
Clue 2: Day 2 – Helping With Bathing
The second note mentions that Alexandra summoned him to the bathroom, and that while in the bath, he opened her suitcase and a severed hand was inside.
- Using the Notebook, go to Day 2: Helping with Bathing.
- Click on the wall tile puzzle.
- Press the following tiles: Alexandra, the bathtub, the suitcase, the hand.
- Take the note from the tile that opens.
Clue 3: Day 3 – Assisting In Alchemy
This next note has a maze and two familiar symbols that we know mean left and right.
- Starting from the middle of the maze, you need to get to the exit, counting how many times you turn left and right; you’ll find the answer: Right > Right > Right > Left > Right > Left > Right > Right > Left.
- Using the Notebook, go to Day 3: Assisting in Alchemy.
- Click on the Right/Left puzzle box.
- Input: Right > Right > Right > Left > Right > Left > Right > Right > Left.
- Take the note that pops out.
Clue 4: Day 1 – Searching The Attic
This note has a bunch of symbols behind the text, which can be grouped into three sets: water-related icons, building-related icons, moon-related icons.
- Using the Notebook, go to Day 1: Searching the Attic.
- The constellation puzzle box has three symbols: a building, a moon, and water. See where we’re going with this?
- You need to look at the constellations that the symbols on the note make when you match them together. Four building icons. Three water icons. Two moon icons.
- Put these into the box and then take the note that comes out.
Clue 5: Day 3 – Dressing Up For Dinner
The important clue on the next note is the strange symbol at the bottom.
- Using the Notebook, go to Day 3: Dressing Up For Dinner.
- Go down into the cellar.
- Click the wine puzzle box.
- Recreate the symbol from the note on this box.
- Take the note.
Clue 6: Day 3 – Dressing Up For Dinner
The important thing about this note is the colours that are mentioned and the symbols: Bronze Spiral stairs. Silver Snake. Gold mark.
- On the same Day 3: Dressing Up For Dinner, go to the cellar.
- Move the bronze bottle above the spiral symbol.
- Move the silver bottle above the S symbol.
- Move the gold bottle above the symbol that was put on the baby’s forehead (the triangle with the horizontal line).
- Click the barrel that was opened.
- Click through until you enter the next room.
- Click the red cloth until a note falls out.
- Read the note.
Clue 7: Multiple days
There are a few things on this note. The Xs at the start match those on Alexandra’s notes in Helping with Bathing, then a window, a circle, and the final symbol is one of the symbols we deciphered in Assisting with Alchemy.
- Using the Notebook, go to Day 2: Helping with Bathing.
- Work out which number remains based on the Xs in the note we just found (third number along): number 6.
- Go to Day 2: Preparing Coffee.
- Go upstairs to view the painting of the house, and note the number in the window with the curved arch (top window): number 2.
- The circle is actually an eyeball, so if you recall the number the eye looks at on Day 2:Going Hunting is the number 9.
- Finally, you can check (or remember) that the final symbol from Day 3: Assisting with Alchemy is the number 4.
- Continue Day 3: Dressing Up For Dinner.
- Go back into the top barrel to the room where you found the red cloth.
- Click on the lockbox.
- Input 6294.
- Open the box and take the telescope.
- Go to where the bust is, then take the passage on the left.
- Examine the window.
- Use the telescope on the window.
- Pan the camera up until the window lights up. Click it.
You’ll unlock the ‘You’ve Found Him’ achievement and get to watch a new clip. Congratulations!
