The Best Route To Take

Mortal Shell 2 offers a vast open world that rewards curiosity but can also lead you into dangerous dead ends. To make the most of the adventure while still discovering essential shells, weapons, and upgrades, follow this recommended progression.

The journey begins in Disciple’s Pass, where you complete the prologue, learn the core mechanics of combat, beacons, gloom, and gather upgrade materials. From there, head to Marrow Keep, the central hub where you meet NPCs and unlock shell and weapon upgrades.

Next, travel to Fainweald, clear the gate to Widow’s Overlook, collect the first map fragment, and obtain Tiel’s Shell. Continue to Glutted Mire, clearing the Mushroom Village Gate and defeating Magdalena, the Lady of the Woods, to unlock the remaining routes.

Proceed north from Widow’s Overlook into Sanguine Caverns, picking up Proxima’s Shell and the Veteran’s Battle Axe before clearing the Stonebled Gate. Then move to the Ruins of Nochte, navigating the Citadel of Penance, securing Eredrim’s Shell and clearing the Prisoner’s Domain.

After that, head south through the three corrupted gates of Fainweald to reach Mammon, gathering the first map fragment for that region and preparing for the next set of gates. The Gate of Mammon leads you through the Abandoned Slums and Lonesome Spire, across the Withered Shoals, and into a showdown with the Hexapod.

The path then continues to the Gate of Infinity, following the Road to Absolution through Castigator’s Keep to the Vestige of Infinity and the Faded Citadel. Finally, arrive at Sester’s Gate, where you reach the Revenant Graves, collect the Sester’s Censer, and clear the Conquered Temple.

For the endgame, return to Marrow Keep, follow the newly opened path, and finish the story.
