Resident Evil has so many official releases, remakes, and spin-off materials that it can honestly be difficult to keep track of them all, as even the most dedicated fans haven’t seen everything the multimedia series has offered over the past 30 years. While not all of these spin-offs are as beloved as the main games in the series, that doesn’t mean they don’t lack quality.
Considering the release of the Resident Evil Veronica remake is still almost a year away, and even longer for the Resident Evil Requiem Story DLC, this latest official release is the perfect way to help pass the time.
The new Resident Evil adaptation is absolutely impressive
Although the adaptation has already been available in other languages for some time, Capcom has officially licensed the physical release of the English version of the Resident Evil: Death Island manga adaptation of the animated film, which will arrive on September 29, as noted RENEW in X.
If you haven’t heard of Resident Evil: Death Island before, the 2023 film followed the story of some of the series’ most iconic protagonists joining forces to combat a bioterrorist attack on Alcatraz Island in California, facing threats new and familiar from the series’ history.
Being the fourth film in the animated series, Death Island also offered a rare glimpse into what the series’ heroes have been up to after the events of Resident Evil 6.
Although the manga doesn’t offer anything as extreme as a completely new story unlike its predecessor, the adaptation has received a lot of praise for overshadowing Death Island’s somewhat mixed reviews.
A chance to revisit Death Island’s unique premise

Published by Titan Manga and illustrated by Zino, the artist behind the magnificent Phantom Blade and Unity of Heaven manga, the latest edition will offer a total of 240 pages of incredibly detailed artwork, which can be pre-ordered now for $12.99 through online retailers like Amazon when it releases on September 29.

In addition to some absurdly detailed illustrations that are worth checking out even if you’ve already seen the original, the Death Island manga adaptation offers some slight modifications that sometimes tell the same story more clearly than its predecessor, while allowing characters like Jill to shine with even cooler scenes compared to the movie.
Although the manga’s release may not be as anticipated as the upcoming Resident Evil remakes, the Death Island manga is worth following when it releases, which has plenty of previews through its previous digital releases if you want to check out a bit more before committing to a physical purchase.
