GTA 6 Leak Sparks Discussion About PC Version

The recent leak of GTA 6 footage has ignited debate online, especially because the video appears to come from a real gameplay session rather than a promotional clip from Rockstar.

Several developers have weighed in, with two major studios confirming via direct messages that the footage likely originates from a PC build rather than a console. https://t.co/yJKxPcTydHA August 20, 2026 Leaving aside the “I have developers in my DMs” concerns, I’d say this is probably correct, as others have suggested.

While it’s true that games are typically developed on PC, the existence of a PC build does not reveal much about the final product.

Rockstar’s CEO Strauss Zelnick noted that the console launch will “serve the core” first, suggesting PC gamers will have to wait, as they did with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2.

What excites observers most is the potential for high‑end graphical options.

The leaked clips show detailed lighting and long draw distances comparable to the official trailers, hinting at a scalable low‑end setting and demanding top‑tier settings for enthusiasts.

Speculation about hardware requirements is rampant.

Some wonder whether a modest graphics card will suffice, while others expect the need for flagship RTX 5080 or RTX 5090 cards to max out the experience.

Early estimates suggest the game may run above 30 fps, though the exact settings remain unclear.

Price remains a concern; graphics card costs are currently sky‑high, making the prospect of a high‑performance PC release daunting for many gamers.

Until Rockstar provides official details, the community can only speculate.

The consensus so far is that the footage was probably captured on a PC, though some logical leaps persist in the discussion.
