AMD Expands FSR 4.1 to Radeon RX 6000 Series and Other Platforms
AMD has announced that FSR 4.1, its answer to Nvidia’s DLSS, will roll out this week to Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards. The update also brings support to APUs, Xbox consoles, and a range of Halo and Strix chips for mini‑desktops, mobile workstations, and Ryzen 9 laptop processors. In addition, Xbox users will see an optimized experience on Asus ROG Xbox laptops, and the technology will be available for upcoming games on Vulkan.
Vulkan Support Enhances Linux Gaming
Vulkan, a non‑proprietary API similar to Microsoft’s DirectX 12, underpins Linux systems such as the Steam Deck. Expanding Vulkan compatibility benefits AMD Linux gamers, promising higher performance on older hardware. While a release timeline has not been set, AMD expects improvements to arrive sooner than expected, especially as the next generation of Xbox and PlayStation consoles adopt AMD architecture.
