Unlocking the Silver Trader in The Blood of Dawnwalker
In the dangerous world of The Blood of Dawnwalker you’ll constantly need Denarius for medical supplies, weapons, and skill books. Some of the most valuable items to sell are made of silver, but the metal is illegal, so you can’t simply approach any merchant.
Raising Infamy
One way to unlock the Silver Trader is to raise your Infamy to Level 4. Infamy rises as you disrupt the court’s plans—destroying blood stockpiles, intercepting prisoner transports, or clearing guard camps. When your Infamy reaches Level 4, you can speak with the Silver Trader and persuade him to buy your silver.
Into the Den Quest
The second route is to complete the “Into the Den” quest, available during or after the prologue. The quest starts in a peat bog northwest of Laslea Glen, where you must defeat the Ravenous Bear boss. If you take it on after the prologue, head to the marked cave on the map. Before the fight, finish the “Deep Down” side quest to obtain a stronger sword and armor, and stock up on healing food, since the bear deals heavy damage.
The bear’s attacks come from the right, left, or above, but they are slow enough to parry. Block when the shield icon turns red to stagger the bear and land hits. Watch for its unblockable attack; dodge left or right to move beside the boss and strike while it’s vulnerable. Avoid overcommitting during the prologue and focus on parrying.
After defeating the bear, go to the back of the cave, examine the corpse, and read a note that points to a house marked with a yellow X. That is the only home in the peat bog with a door. Enter, dig out the treasure, and you’ll spend only a short amount of time.
Silver Trader Location and Rewards
The Silver Trader can be found in the southwest corner of Svartrau City, accessible after the prologue. His position appears on the map as a goblet icon. Once you meet the infamy or quest requirement, a new dialogue option lets you convince him to purchase your silver. Items typically sell for several hundred Denarius, and selling more than 1,000 Denarius worth of silver unlocks the Smuggler achievement.
