Lenovo Legion Go BIOS Update Bricking Issue
If you installed BIOS version N3CN42WW on your Lenovo Legion Go and the device won’t flash or is stuck, Lenovo says it isn’t your fault. The company says the problem is likely due to a specific component in motherboards from certain batches, not user error.
Free Repair Options
Lenovo confirms that users under warranty can have the device repaired or replaced at no cost. For out‑of‑warranty devices, repairs will be free as well, pending local regulations. This applies even to EU customers whose devices are out of warranty, as long as the issue stems from the BIOS update.
Community Reports
Forum posts and a Reddit thread from August 4 warned users not to update the BIOS, claiming the update bricked several units. Some users who paid repair fees have already been reimbursed after Lenovo’s latest communication.
Update Availability
Lenovo has not made the N3CN42WW BIOS downloadable for several weeks. Meanwhile, the previous version N3CN40WW, released in August, remains the only option for many, though its differences from an earlier January release are unclear.
