Exploring Mortal Shell II Achievements
Mortal Shell II hides a variety of achievements that reward exploration, combat mastery, and collection.
Health and Items
Items like the Mango restore health instantly, while the Baghead at Desolate Peak grants a trivial reward for locating the character.
Shells and Bonding
Progressing through shells involves unlocking new ones such as Tiel early on, and reaching the maximum bonding tier with a chosen shell at the Shellkeeper.
Weapons and Sidearms
Many achievements focus on weapon collection: the Great Martyr’s Blade near Gloomshade Grove, the Clockwork Scythe near The Silent Steps, and the Triarch Repeater in Blackwell Cavern. Unlocking all sidearms and all weapons requires thorough map exploration.
Combat Mastery
Boss fights demand careful study of attack patterns. Achievements like Defeat Droeg, the Conquerer, and Defeat Zmey, the Unbidden, reward players who stay mobile and punish openings. Similar guidance applies to Orrem, the Reclaimed, and The Lost Child.
Special Quests
Some achievements involve unique tasks, such as feeding Egon to cause his death, or taking the Tar Golem to minimum health without defeating it. Completing the Festival by talking to Marigold during the prologue also unlocks an achievement.
Collection and Exploration
Map fragments, Shell Memories, Beacons, and Tarstones are scattered throughout the world. Finding all map fragments, watching every Shell Memory, and cleansing all Beacons contribute to achievements like Sat Nav, Seeking the Past, and So Fresh, So Clean.
Endgame Achievements
The ultimate goal is to finish the game, claim your first Shell, Weapon, and Sidearm, and unlock the “You’re More Than a Weapon” achievement early on. Completing all other achievements grants the “No Lifer” milestone.
