Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced has officially been cracked, as voices38 continues its hot streak.
Denuvo cracking experienced something of a drought in 2025, when Empress finally announced that she would be leaving the scene two years after her final release, citing health issues and her disillusionment with the pirate community. With several historical groups also inactive or disbanded, the scene was drying up. Then came Voices38 with a surprise crack of Doom: The Dark Ages in early 2026.
It was the first time a 2025 game was cracked by hackers, and just a few weeks later, voices38 would return with a Resident Evil Requiem crack, solidifying himself as a key new player. Even more impressive was his first day with Lego Batman: Legacy of The Dark Knight. While groups like DenuvOwO relied on hypervisor-level temporary bypasses running below the Windows kernel level, voices38 achieved a full, traditional crack instead of relying on these more controversial methods.
But his most poetic hack yet is Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced, which literally hacks a game about hacking. Edward Kenway would be proud.
Voices38 strikes again
What sets Voices38 apart from traditional scene groups is that, like Empress, they share their work directly on online forums and Reddit, engaging with the community rather than following the traditional P2P hierarchy. Black Flag was no exception.
Yesterday they confirmed to ar/CrackWatch that they had cracked the remake, complete with DLC. It’s hard to pin down a timeline, as voices38 doesn’t explicitly state when they started working on the game, but this trailer comes just over five weeks after launch (although it appears to use the August 4 version, making the gap even shorter).
Little is known about voices38. They remain completely anonymous and receive donations through cryptocurrency, making it difficult to establish their identity in the real world, but they use the pronouns “I” and “my” when talking about cracks, so they appear to be an individual, not a group.
Whoever they are, they are responsible for ending the drought and have brought cracking back to its roots instead of the more invasive bypasses at the hypervisor level.
