Ananta Release Date and Gameplay
Even if you haven’t been paying attention to Ananta, you’ve probably heard tell of the “anime Spider-Man meets Grand Theft Auto: Vice City” open-world RPG or caught a glimpse of one of its viral trailer clips over the last few years. Well, we finally have a release date: January 15, 2027.
We also have another excellent trailer, this time set to the 1992 hit single “Dreams” by the Cranberries:
Ananta is being made by NetEase developer Naked Rain, and it’s a free-to-play release straddling console, PC, and mobile platforms. It looks like one of those AAA games out of China that somehow runs on everything and looks way too good to be true, and maybe it is, but at least it doesn’t have gacha elements like the free-to-play anime RPGs it resembles.
So what do you actually do in Ananta? You play as a supernatural investigator called an Infinite Trigger who traverses a mystical urban world through a variety of mechanics and mini‑games, from swinging like Spider‑Man to stealing cars and racing down the freeway. The latest trailer is a sizzle reel of many gameplay ideas and funny moments. As long as it’s not a grind and a half to play, it could be a lot of fun.
