Deadlock’s Violet Is Facing Fortnite Comparisons

Valve’s MOBA Deadlock has surged with the City Never Sleeps patch, which adds six new characters and many gameplay tweaks. The newest hero, Violet, has quickly become the talk of the community because her abilities let players build walls and walkways on the fly, a mechanic that feels strikingly like Fortnite’s building system. A video posted by ricehatph on X showcases this potential, and fans have begun recreating classic Fortnite techniques—blocking enemy skills and launching from high walkways for big combos.

Deadlock’s New Heroes Keep Surprising Fans

Despite some criticism that Violet’s lore is less compelling than other new heroes, her kit raises the bar for design. Her movement tools let her cover long distances or slide across the map at high speed, adding depth to play. The release also set a player‑count record, pulling in over 303,300 concurrent players for the third straight update. Looking ahead, the community is eager for Nurse Harrow, slated for an October 20 debut, which promises another fan‑favorite addition to the roster.
