Limited‑Edition Xbox Console

The new translucent green Xbox console, priced at $899.99, remains scarce because it is a numbered limited‑edition run. While the console is tough to obtain, the matching Xbox X25 controller is readily available from several major retailers.

Availability and Pricing

The X25 Anniversary Controller, listed at $79.99 (or $79 at Walmart), can be pre‑ordered this weekend and is expected to ship on October 20. Best Buy, Walmart, GameStop and the Xbox store currently have units in stock. Note that Best Buy’s recent shipment will not be offered for in‑store pickup.

Why the Controller Matters

This controller mirrors the standard Xbox Wireless design but features a translucent green finish and full‑color face buttons, evoking the look of the 1990s era. Although it isn’t a brand‑new pad, it carries the same hardware Microsoft bundles with every console and uses for special editions, making it a sought‑after item for collectors, longtime Xbox fans, and anyone who appreciates retro aesthetics. Because the controller is labeled as a special‑edition item across all retailers, Microsoft can increase production if demand rises, and recent payment issues may bring additional units to market before the console’s launch.

Accessories

Many gamers find the $900 price tag for a limited console hard to justify, which is why the more affordable X25 controller has become the focal point for nostalgic gaming. A roundup of the best Xbox Series X accessories — including top‑rated controllers and headsets — is also available for purchase.
